A MAN IN his 30s has died and another man has been injured in a collision between a van and two cars that took place yesterday evening in Co Longford.
The crash happened at about 7pm on the Longford Town side of the N4 after the Edgeworthstown Roundabout.
The driver of one of the cars – a man in his 30s – has since been pronounced dead. Another man – also in his 30s – was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be serious but non-life threatening.
No other injuries were reported. The road was closed last night for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions were in place.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact them.
Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6.30pm and 7.15pm yesterday evening are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
